Nacho Grande Style

When you’re in the mood for something Spicy, Southwest Nacho Grande hits the spot!  Crispy restaurant style back chips dressed with heat seeking meat topped with cheesey cheese, sweet onions, and juicy tomatos brought together to get your southwest mojo working. 

 These are lots of fun for the whole family.  Set the ingredients up in individual fiesta style bowls and let the guests make their own plateful. This recipe will make 4 very large platefuls of Southwest Nachos Grande.  Recipe can easily be doubled.

Ingredients:

  • 1 family size bag restaurant style nacho chips
  • 1 lb hamburger 
  • 1 taco bell taco mix
  • 1 12 oz can refried beans 
  • 1 16 oz jar chili con queso 
  • 1 16 oz jar salsa
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 can jalapenos 
  • 1 12 oz tub sour cream.                                                        

Heat oven to 250 degrees.  Put nacho chips on cookie sheet in oven for about 10 minutes.  Mix hamburger with seasoning packet as instructed on package.  Heat refried beans in a saucepan.  Put chili con queso in large bowl in microwave for about a minute and 1/2.  Check temperature.  Heat longer if necessary.  Dice onions, tomatos, and jalapenos.  Place in individual bowls.  Put salsa, hamburger, nacho chips, cheese, refried beans, and sour cream in individuals bowls. Put plates, spoons, forks, and lots of napkins out for all to dig in!
