Fun Fact:

The cotton-top tamarin, scientific name Saguinus oedipus is a small New World monkey weighing lower than 0.5 kg (1.1 lb). This New World Monkey can dwell as much as 24 years old, however, most of them die at 13 years old.

Little Doggie

Yesterday we posted this picture and asked “wolves or coyotes?”

It’s really difficult to tell from a picture however, we cheated. We know what they are.

Wolves and coyotes are very similar with some distinct differences. A wolf has short rounded ears versus a coyotes longer pointed ears, smaller pointed nose, and smaller paw size. Weight is another factor when trying to reach a determination. Wolves can reach up to and surpass a coyote’ s weight by more than 4 times depending on the coyote.

This picture was taken at the zoo at the new wolf enclosure. According to the zoo, these little doggies are wolves.

Thank you to everyone that played along!
