This is a beautiful butterfly. How in the world did you get the butterfly to stay perfectly still in your hand? I couldn’t do that if I tried. I found this article that talks about the butterflies wings. May I share it with you?
Butterflys seem to be attracted to me. My husband happened to be right next to me with the camera at that moment and captured to sight. The butterfly hung around for another couple of minutes and flew away. Butterflys seem to land on me quite regularly during the summer months. I even have been seen walking around with them on my shoulder.

We still have monarch butterflies in the Finger Lakes. Saw one feeding from a flower yesterday.
